The air space forces of the Russian Federation are not prepared for the sharp deployment of air operations in Ukraine. This is stated in the report of the UK Ministry of Defense of the Ministry of Defense of February 16.

The Office notes that recently the PCS of the Russian Federation is overwhelmed by a large amount of aviation, which can be involved as support during land operations. In addition, the number of departures of Russian aircraft increased last week. Currently, the activity of the Russians in the air is approximately corresponding to the average daily indicator, which conducted observations from the summer of 2022.

At the same time, according to intelligence of the United Kingdom, the PCS of the Russian Federation is far behind in hostilities due to the threat of the use of Ukrainian air defense and possible strikes in strategic airfields in the rear. The Office stipulates that Russia has an unharmed air park, which has about 1,500 crew aircraft, and reminds that at least 130 units of aviation have been destroyed since the invasion.

"Russian battle aircraft operate almost exclusively on Russia -controlled territory, which does not allow them to effectively play their key shock role. It is unlikely that PCS is currently preparing for a sharp deployment aviation, " - added the scouts in their report on February 16. In one of the reports for January, the UK's military intelligence argued that Russia is afraid to use modern Su-57 fighters in the sky over Ukraine.
