Production of BMP-1am "Basurmanin": how many armored vehicles a year receives the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation-Kovalenko

The expert noted that Russian enterprises disrupted the general order for the restoration of 145 cars of old BMP-1 after conservation and modernization to the variant of 1am "Basurmanin". The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in 2023 received from the corporation "Uralvagonzavod" 131 units of BMP-1am "Basurmanin". And for 2024 it is planned to supply 150 such machines. According to him, Russian companies disrupted the general order for the restoration of old BMP-1 after conservation and modernization for modification 1am "Basurmanin" on 145 cars. But even with the disruption of a small order, in fact, in the volume of 12 armored vehicles per month, the Russian army ordered 150 new BMP-1am.

Kovalenko noted that according to the verified data during the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, the Ukrainian forces were destroyed, damaged and excavated 47 BMP-1am Basurmanin. However, according to unofficial data, it is about the loss of about 100 units of such armored vehicles. The BMP-1 modernization project to Basurmanin was replaced by only individual units while maintaining all other structural elements.

According to Russian sources, the body and internal layout remained unchanged. "BMP-1am" Basurmanin "is the modernization of BMP-1 from 2018 with BM from BTR-82A and the engine UTD-20C1 at 300 hp. These machines also received kits of protection of the upper hemispher -6892,-Kovalenko writes. As for weapons, this armored vehicle is equipped with a 30-mm automatic gun 2A72, which can fire ammunition of different types.
