Black Hornet Clone: Russian Engineers make microdrons "bumble" for the Russian army

The developers claim that they have already collected a working sample weighing 85 g, flying at a speed of 25 km/h. Novosibirsk engineers have declared the development of a new "bumble" microdrone for the needs of Russian military and special services. Denis Kotin, the head of the Center for Competences of Unmanned Aircraft, told the RIA Novosti agency. The Russian confessed that the developers had taken the British miniature drone Black Hawk.

Drones with this name in the United Kingdom do not produce, apparently, the Black Hornet aircraft, which are now used by the UK armed forces. They are considered the smallest drones in the world. Interestingly, Russian engineers also decided to name their UAV in honor of the insect. "Our task was to compete in this segment and try in the technical characteristics and dimensions to approach a well -known analogue," the speaker said.

Novosibirsk designers say that they have already collected a layout sample of a small unmanned 85 grams weighing, which can accelerate up to 25 km/h. With a built -in camcorder, it can transmit the image to the operator up to 2 km. Bumblebee includes three batteries, each of them is enough for about 20 minutes of work. "Its main feature is miniature dimensions, and the working body is one video camera.

Therefore, its scope is to look where it is physically difficult for a person," the Center's head explained. According to Denis Kotin, the team plans to refine the microdron by June, and the remaining part of 2023 to offer their model to potential buyers. He is the main customers of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation and Russian special services.

The Vice -Rector for Innovation and Development of NGTU Marina Hairullin added that the developers are already agreeing with other partners and are planning to reach some agreements by the summer. Earlier, they wrote that Norway and the United Kingdom had transferred to Ukraine the microdrons of Black Hornet from Teledyne Flir worth $ 9. 26 million in the fall, drones have already been arrived in the Armed Forces.

In November, the Ukrainian military with the call sign "technician" reported on the work of Black Hornet Nano in the war in Ukraine. According to him, the drone works very quietly, which allows him to fly unnoticed for a matter of meters from Russian soldiers, collecting intelligence. At the same time, small sizes do not allow the camera to transmit video in good resolution.
