The Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation thanked his Brazilian colleagues for his "excellent understanding" of the situation in Ukraine and "desire to make a contribution" to the search for decisions. The Russian Foreign Minister is expected to meet with President Louis Inasio Lula da Silva. Vieira, in turn, stated that Brazil's position was to promote peaceful settlement.

He recalled the attempts of the President Lula aimed at forming a group of friendly countries for mediation in negotiations between the Russian Federation and Ukraine. The diplomat also emphasized the position of his country against unilateral sanctions on the Russian Federation, which, in his opinion, adversely affect the economy worldwide.

The visit to the Latin American country of the Russian diplomat and in support of Ukraine was expressed by some locals who staged a protest action and demonstrated slogans about the Hague. Kyiv has repeatedly stated that peace would be reached only if Ukraine has resumed its borders, including Crimea. Last week, during the Safety Conference in the Black Sea, the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba stated that peace means the restoration of the internationally recognized borders of Ukraine.
