"Only in the form of a layout": an expert explained why the Russian Federation will not be able to copy the Drone MQ-9 Reaper

Due to the low level of technological development, Russians and Iranians are able to reproduce in their drones only the glider shape and the internal location of the nodes. Russia and Iran will not be able to make a copy of the American drone MQ-9 Reaper, which Russian troops knocked over the Black Sea on March 14. Ukrainian serviceman Alexander Karpyuk explained the reasons on his Facebook page.

He noted that the social network often discuss the possibility of Russians or Iranians to copy Western UAVs. According to Oleksandr Karpyuk, in order to create analogues of military equipment, in addition to access to technology, the country should have a fairly high level of development of the military-industrial complex. The main feature of the MQ-9 expert called satellite communication, which allows operators to control drones over the Black Sea, while sitting in the US.

In order to get a similar drone, Iran or Russia must first create a grouping of satellites with a reliable communication channel. "Yes, the little thing. Iran is also and still a space state. About powerful and mobile radars of synthesized aperture, which can be installed on UAV - Yeah, also funny, if you see what cameras they install on eagles," - sarcastically said Alexander Karpyuk.

Iran has already managed to create foreign drones, for example, the famous Shahd is very similar to Harpi, developed in Israel over 20 years ago. According to the Ukrainian military, the Israeli model is designed to detect the means of HRS and air defense, it can go and go to flight again after recharging, and its Iranian copy flies only once and according to the coordinates. To do this, ShahED uses antennas with a controlled (Controlled Reception Pattern Antenna or CRPA).

Israel sold this technology to Russia in the 2000s, along with other solutions for the production of drones "Orlan-10". Later, the Russians shared the works with Iran to protect the ShahED navigation system. "When you look at how and what decisions Russia and Iran have been copying from foreign drones all this time, you realize that the main thing they copied is the glider form and the internal composition of nodes. This is their level.

They will only be able in the form of a layout, " - summed up Alexander Karpyuk. He also posted a photo of the Russian analogue ShahED by the name "Lancet". According to the military, in fact he is an Iranian drone, who was copied from the Israeli baroiding ammunition Hero. "Take a look at the combat part and be aware of the entire Iranian copy genius," the post added. On March 14, the Russian Su-27 fighter shot the American drone MQ-9 Reaper and dropped fuel on it.
