"This is the interception of the initiative": a Polish officer on actions of the Armed Forces in Kharkiv and Kherson region

According to Peter Lewandovsky, all previous operations of the Ukrainian army changed the situation only at the tactical level. Current actions in Kharkiv and Kherson directions should be considered as one operation. Polish colonel Petro Lewandowski described the course of the Armed Forces operation on the release of Kharkiv and Kherson regions from Russian troops, and why these are all components of one strategic operation. This was reported by Defense 24.

Petro Lewandowski has repeatedly participated in Polish missions abroad. In his opinion, the Ukrainian counter -offensive near Kharkov was a surprise thanks to great results. Before this, the Armed Forces counterattack had tactical success, such as the defense of Kiev or the first attempts to reject the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation from the north of Kharkov. However, they all did not give strategic success.

The Armed Forces could improve the tactical position - a perfect description of maneuverable defense. However, now the operations of the Ukrainian command are focused on the interception of strategic initiative, so that the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation are forced to adjust to the Armed Forces. Therefore, the counter -offensive in the Kherson and Kharkiv directions is part of one goal: to intercept the strategic initiative.

According to Lewandowski, it is possible to speak of its completion only after the liberation of these two areas. According to NATO standards, such operations are called "coverage operation". Their duration can be several months. Therefore, information in the media about the "primary" operation of the Armed Forces in Kharkiv region and "that distracts attention", in Kherson region, is not entirely correct.

The Armed Forces were able to fulfill the purpose of disorientation of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, announcing a counter -offensive in the Kherson region. The Russian command believed in this and transferred its best units from Kharkiv region, where the forces for the offensive were accumulated.

According to Lewandowski, Russian troops were suddenly captured for several reasons: regarding the last point, the Colonel of the Armed Forces of Poland additionally states that the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation thought that if the personnel of the army is replaced by the ORDLO, then the integrity would not be injured. However, they were the first that they began to "pour" in the Izium direction.

At first, the Armed Forces was implemented by a counter -offensive, planning to release Kupyansk - an important railway knot for the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. The capture of Kupyansk also solves the task of removing the threat from the offensive of the Russian Federation to Slavyansk and Kramatorsk. However, the operation was much more successful, so the Armed Forces were able to liberate the Kharkiv region as much as possible.
