Shi equated with nuclear weapons: 60 countries want to limit its use during wars

The delegates have agreed to develop basic principles of work and restrictions for the AI, taking the first step to sign an international treaty. At the Hague Conference in 60 countries, including the US and China, they called for urgently approving international rules for the use of artificial intelligence during hostilities. The details of the negotiations reports The Defense Blog, referring to the joint appeal of participants.

During the meeting, representatives of more than 60 countries took the first steps to limit the use of AI as an example of how they have already done for nuclear and chemical weapons. According to Dutch sources, China was invited to a conference as one of the leading countries in the field of artificial intelligence, but Russia was not called because it is conducting hostilities against Ukraine.

As a result, 2000 delegates from governments, technology companies and civilian companies have agreed to create an international commission to regulate the use of AI in hostilities. Before signing the contract is far away, but the parties are going to develop general principles as soon as possible.

"There are fears around the world about the use of AI in the military sphere and about the potential unreliability of AI systems, problems of human participation, lack of clarity on responsibility and possible unforeseen consequences," - said in a joint statement. They came to mind that such technologies have a very high combat potential, which allows, among other things, to use huge amounts of data and make more effective solutions on their basis.
