Preparing for the Crimean Bridge: Colonel of the Armed Forces explained the importance of blowing on "Sergei Kotov"

This is not the first attempt to destroy Sergei Kotov. The first attack occurred in August 2023, when the ship was damaged but was restored. The ship was an important part of the Black Sea Fleet of Russia, mostly used to patrol the Kerch Strait south of the Crimean Bridge.
According to Dmitry Pletenchuk, a spokesman for the Naval Forces, Sergei Kotov performed the duties of patrolling the water territory, defending the Kerch Strait south of the Crimean bridge. The loss of "Sergiy Kotov", which was to ensure the safety of infrastructure and military bases, was a serious blow to Russia, according to the Navy representative.

Although the losses for the Black Sea Fleet of Russia are significant, exceeding a third of its number, the representative of the Ukrainian Navy believes that it is too early to talk about critical losses for Russia. Vladislav Seleznev stated that "Sergey Kotov" was on a combat duty, defending the Crimean bridge from possible attacks of Ukrainian marine drones. He noted that it was a rehearsal for the possible failure of the key logistics artery that provides occupation troops in the Crimea.
