Belgium is ready to finance Ukraine's defensive needs in profit from the assets of the Russian Federation - Shmigal

According to Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Schmigal, Belgium has partially distributed Belgium to support refugees. Belgium declared 1. 7 billion euros of profit from frozen Russian assets. "Belgium has declared that it has received 1. 7 billion euros from Russian assets. In part, these funds have been distributed to support Ukrainian refugees in the EU. Belgium is partially ready to finance Ukrainian needs, including defense," he said. In addition, Shmigal added that Belgium is ready to consider the possibility of confiscation of Russian assets and their transfer to Ukraine together with partners. He stressed that during 2024 these mechanisms will be processed.

"These mechanisms we will work out during this year. Let's start this work with spring meetings on the basis of the IMF and the World Bank in Washington and will continue at all sites including our conference on recovery in Berlin. I think it should be a key topic" , - he said.
