Now there is a situation that the enemy has already come to Avdiivka, but the question arises: the Armed Forces will try to counter or take more favorable positions for defense, says the analyst.

But people and equipment are still needed in the Kupyansk or Temporal Yar and even on the Right Bank of Kherson region to support the bridgehead in Krynki. "Especially it is important to know how much Ukraine will receive in the first package of help: how many ammunition will be there and how much they are enough," the analyst emphasizes. "There are many aspects that will affect Avdiivka's decisions.

" According to Kovalenko, if the decision is made to leave the city, the Armed Forces will be taken to such positions, which will continue to effectively deplete the army of the Russian Federation and destroy the equipment of the invaders. If the enemy captures Avdiivka, then it will take a long time to rotate his own groups, restore the human resource and the technical component.

"The enemy will begin a long process of regrouping, although the invaders will continue to press on Novomykhailivka and the Yar times," the expert says. "But the main pressure will fall in the second half of 2024. " According to Kovalenko, Avdiivka depleted the resource of the army of the Russian Federation even more than Bakhmut did.
