The Russians dismantled the Ukrainian sea drone Magura: what's inside (photo)

The elements of the unmanned boat structure are sometimes fragile, inexpensive and disposable, but its combat efficiency speaks for itself. The Russians managed to disassemble the Ukrainian unmanned sea boat Magura. Many photos and a fairly spreading design was published by the Russian Civil Blogger "UAVS" in its Telegram channel. According to the Russian blogger, Magura has a rather thin aluminum body, fortified from the middle of the boards.

He suggests that drone can punch down the drowned trees, so there are cases when these drones are thrown ashore. The hatches in the housing are allegedly made of covers from barrels. The motor compartment is aluminum and fastened to the body with the help of building foam. Between the motor compartment and the top lid is a blown space where a box with appliances is installed.

This solution simultaneously cleanses the compartment from fuel evaporation and lowers the temperature of the lid, as well as thermal visibility from the outside. A Chinese hydrocycle is installed inside the motor compartment. It is modified minimally: its appliance panel is fastened with glue to the body, and a webmer looks at it. The Magura communication channel consists of two Starlink antennas and satellite antennas from the Kymeta manufacturer.

Systems play the role of two complete communication channels, one of which is able to completely replace the other, Kymeta is the third. The blogger suggests that Starlink terminals may fail in the sea or sometimes ban. Another communication channel is the Rut956 industrial router on two SIM cards. Near the shore, up to 40 km from the cellular tower, it is able to connect to a mobile Internet on land.

According to the author, one of the modes of sea drones is to approach the shore with GPS, to connect to the mobile network and to carry out manual completion on the target. The router has GPS support, but its antenna input is not connected, instead, both inputs of cellular antennas are connected for both SIM cards. There are also signs of connecting on the LAN2 connector, that is, the router was used.

Onboard electronics combines a variety of Chinese boards, boxes, from plastic industrial to specially made aluminum, on rivets or sealants. For each board, individual plates with fastening and screed holes are made, including a cheap EasyCap video fee, which is responsible for telemetry. The basis of the intelligence of the boat is many Raspberry Pi Pico Breakout Board devices.

Each relay connection is programmed separately, each feature actually has a separate board Raspberry Pi, even inside one box. The boards have an isolated CAN on ADM3053, but none is connected to the electronic control unit of the hydrocycle, and the telemetry is read by the camera. The autonomous orientation of the drone is based on the OrangeCube and Raspberry Pi block. Most likely, only the course data is used so that the pilot can handle better manually.

The Russian notes that under maritime conditions OrangeCube is not capable of providing long -term orientation. Starlink Data Streams flock into the Mikrotik RB962 router. "Most likely, management on Starlink is organized through tunnels. " The center also has a computer that was not allowed to disassemble and even remove the cooling fan. The Magura has a FLIR thermal imaging chamber, as well as a visible spectrum camera similar to a webcam that removes telemetry.

Military and communication expert Sergey Beskrestnov with the call sign "Flash" expressed his own opinion on his Telegram channel: "The Russians dismantled our Magura's shock boat5. Not military and civilians, but civilians. I am of course interested in the management channel. In principle, I have not seen anything new. Two old men, a LTE modem with external antennas and satellite terminal for yacht hawk u8 from Kymeta. The rest of the content is made on the principle "cheaper, faster, easier.

" Our boys "interfere" the system of destruction of the boat so that they no longer get to the enemy, " - says the expert. The PS01 blogger translated Russian analysis in English and made its own conclusion in X (Twitter): "They claim that disorderly electronics makes drone unreliable. It is unclear which version of Magura was so cruelly tested. Ukraine's successes in the northwestern part of the Black Sea speak us about The fact that there is a lot in this assessment . . .
