According to the chief of Kharkiv garrison Sergey Melnik, the invaders managed to upgrade the S-300 and C-400 systems and the missiles for them, which does not allow the Ukrainian air defense to knock them down. Russian troops regularly fireting the frontline cities, including Kharkiv. He told about it in a comment to the publication "Public". According to the Ukrainian military, to reduce Russian shelling of Kharkiv region it is necessary to destroy Russian modernized anti-aircraft missile complexes. According to him, the situation may soon change for the better. General Marseille noted that the invaders managed to modernize S-300 and 400-400 systems, as well as the missiles they use, which does not allow the Ukrainian air defense to knock them down.

Melnyk stressed that it was because of this that the Ukrainian air forces could not intercept these air targets so quickly. In order for air defense to work, the system must be activated and neutralized by the missile. "But the maximum range of this rocket in the Kharkiv region is about 110 kilometers. Unfortunately, the artillery fire systems and the RSSU systems do not reach the C-300 systems of Russia, and it is almost impossible to get on them," he explained.
