The Russian Federation can attack the Kharkiv region in the coming weeks - the General Staff of Estonia

The Chief of the General Staff Ero Rebo notes that occupiers can attack in order to delay Ukrainian forces from the Kupyansk direction, which is under the main blow of the Russian troops. It is likely that in the coming weeks Russia can try to attack the Kharkiv region. This was reported by the head of the General Staff of Defense forces of Estonia Colonel Ero Rebo, writes Err.

According to him, the purpose of such an attack may be an attempt to delay Ukrainian troops from the Kupyansk direction, which the enemy focused on. Rebo also said that active battles under Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Donetsk continue in the Donetsk direction. In particular, hostile forces concentrated on Avdiivka, and in the middle of the city, the Russian military conduct intelligence.

However, such actions of the occupiers do not mean that they have broken or interfere with the logistics of the Armed Forces. In the Zaporozhye direction, active fighting continues near the village of Veliky Novosilka. However, neither the Ukrainian nor the Russian military is achieving progress. In the Kherson direction, the Ukrainian military continues to keep the bridgehead on the east bank of the Dnieper.

Ero Rebo also commented on the fall in the Belgorod region of the IL-76 military transport aircraft. According to him, today they do not have accurate information about what or who was on board. The reason for this is that Russia does not want to cooperate with international flight safety authorities. In early January, foreign media wrote that Russia is preparing for a new offensive in Kharkiv region. It was noted that the invaders could strengthen air attacks and soon carry out a land offensive.

However, the possible date of the offensive was called January 15. According to the representative of Gur Andriy Chernyak, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation really began to accumulate their forces, but they could not confirm that the invaders were preparing the offensive on this date. Also, the head of the regional military administration, Oleg Synigubov, noted that there is no accumulation of Russian troops in the region.

Meanwhile, as the military-political observer of the "Information Resistance" group Alexander Kovalenko wrote on January 5, along the border, the invaders concentrated a group of troops-"Bryansk", "Belgorod" and "Kursk". In his opinion, the "extreme" threat to Kharkiv should be the Belgorod group, which includes 11. 5 thousand soldiers. Recall recently in Financial Times reported that the Russian Federation can prepare a new offensive on Ukraine this summer.
