Attacks of defense forces on the airfields of the Russian Federation: what are the goals of priority and what the success of the blows

Ukraine has Storm Shadow and ATACMS missiles that can effectively destroy planes and runways at the Russian military airfields. In the summer of 2024 there were 15 attacks of Ukrainian means of damage. If the airfields of the Russian Federation are located within the reach of the drones of defense forces, then the warehouses of fuel and managed airbombs explode, the military aircraft is damaged.

One of the most remote goals, to which in 2024, the Armed Forces was received is the Olenya aerodrome, located 1,800 km. In the summer of 2024 there were about 15 attacks on Russian air tights, at the same time around Ukraine from 20-30 pcs. Focus gathered information about how the Russian Armed Forces use aviation where it is stationed and how to get it.

The Armed Forces Air Force regularly reports on the airfields of the Russian Federation, from which aviation is raised for strokes along the front line and launches missiles on facilities in Ukraine. For example, during the attack on the night of August 21, the enemy launched a missile X-59/X-69 from airspace in Kursk region, August 20-winged ballistic missile "Icander-K" from Bryansk region, X-59-from Kursk and Zaporizhzhia .

One of the massive attacks took place on July 8: then two buildings of the Ohmatdit Hospital were destroyed. The enemy launched 38 rockets of different types, among them-X-47m2 "dagger" (launched by Mig-31 planes), X-101 (launches Tu-95MS, Tu-160), were also 3m22 "Zircon", X-22, X, x -59. In the database of the Dutch aviation magazine Scramble you can see that working aerodromes of the Russian Federation are approximately 90-95 airports.

Half of them are marked on an online map of the fight of Deepstate. Around Ukraine at a distance of 34 km (Tomarovka, Belgorod region) up to 300 km (the reach of ATACMS missiles) is about 30-40 airbase. Data on the airfields of the Russian Federation show that two-thirds of them-outside the range of 30-300 km. For example, the Olenya military airfield is about 1 800 km, Engels-2-500 km.

Analysts of the portal "Word and Delo" in February 2023 found that the highest density of military aircraft of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation - in Krasnodar countries: they were accrued eight pcs. In the Primorsky Territory, located 6 thousand km from Ukraine - seven. Part of the aircraft after the attacks of the defense forces, which took place in 2022, was written on such distant airfields on the portal.

In the commentary of ICTV, the military-political observer of the Information Resistance group informed that in a commentary ICTV reported which airfields of the Russian Federation are most commonly used for bombing of Ukraine. The observer explained that the planes fly from Kursk, Belgorod, Bryansk, Rostov regions.

Rapes of rockets X-101 and X-22 are strategic aviation of TU-22M3 and Tu-95MS, Tu-160: special airfields of the Russian Federation-"Engels-2" in the Saratov region and "Olenya" in the Murmansk region are suitable for them. Starting from the first weeks of a full -scale invasion, the means of damage to the Armed Forces have been flying on the reach of the airfields of the Russian Federation.

In the reports of the command and publications of Roszmi the airfields of the Russian Federation in the territory of temporary occupied Crimea: "Dzhankoy" (June 4, 2023 and April 17, 2024), "Belbek" (May 16, 2024). In addition, on "Engels-2" three times exploded in the winter of 2022. In the summer of 2024, Focus wrote about 15 cases when the airfields of the Russian Federation were hit by Ukrainian means of damage.

In June, the incidents at the Akhtubs and Akhtubinsk airfield (drones were obtained by MiG-31K, TU-22M3 and SU-57) took place Attacks at the Olenya aerodrome occurred: on July 30, two aircraft Tu-22m3 were damaged. July 20 - a blow to Millervo. July 23-Drone attack at Morozovsk airfield: OSint-analyst with Nick AS-22 found damage to S-300 installations, a fuel, runway composition, a deployment point of the Su-34 aircraft.

In August, the airfield "Morozovsk" was shown, photos and videos published by Roszma were certified. According to intelligence, it was possible to damage the two and destroy one aircraft of the SU-34 Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. On August 9, the Lipetsk-2 aerodrome broke out in the Lipetsk region of the Russian Federation. The drones were kissed by a warehouse, which stored 700 managed airbombs for strikes on the front and in border cities.

The footage shot at the scene shows dozens of remains of shells destroyed by strokes of defense forces. On August 13-14, an attack on four airfields of the Russian Federation took place. The network published shots of blows along the airfield "Savaslaka", "Borisoglebsk", "Baltino", "Kursk". 117 drones flew, MiG-31 interceptors were destroyed and the transport IL-76 was damaged. Extra equipment that served the planes and buildings where pilots could be destroyed were also destroyed.

From August 20 to August 22, representatives of the Defense Forces confirmed the attacks on the airfields "Ostafiev", "Millervo" - said the head of the GUR Ministry of Defense Kirill Budanov. The scout also stated that Ukrainian drones were hit in the center of communication in the Moscow region. Another fires occurred at the Marynivka airfield, the Volgograd region, which was based on the Su-24MR front aircraft.

The Ukrainian command did not formally report what weapons of defense forces received to the Russian airfields. What means of the defeat could be used can be found from photos and videos taken by witnesses of emergency events, from the statements of the command of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and representatives of the authorities, from the assessments of Ukrainian military experts.

In general, there are three types of weapons that flew (or could fly) to the airfields of the Russian Federation. The first variant is the long-range drones "February" and "Witch-B": the Russian authorities declared them after the events at the Airrodrom Airfield in June. Defense Express military expert Ivan Kirichevsky on the air "Espresso" explained that Ukraine seems to have the possibility of attacks at a distance of 1 800 km, compared with Tomagawk missiles.

At the same time, it should be noted that such devices featured mainly on footage of attacks on oil refineries of the Russian Federation. The second option is Neptune rocket. The use of this type of weapon was stated by the governor of Kursk region after the explosions that were heard on the outskirts of Kursk near the airfield. Meanwhile, the debut of this rocket took place in the spring of 2022, when the Russian cruiser "Moscow" was buried.

Another confirmed case is the traffic in the Krasnodar Territory: 300 km were flew. The third option is the Western production missiles - Storm Shadow and ATASMS. The partners of Ukraine have officially forbidden the use of this type of weapons against military objects in the Russian territory. But it is known about the use of Storm Shadow in the occupied Crimea: this type of weapon, for example, was blown up by the Rostov-on-Don submarine and the Black Sea Fleet Staff in Sevastopol.

Meanwhile, ATASMS showed their work at an attack on a hangar with military equipment in the occupied Luhansk region. Defense Express experts have calculated how many ATASMS would need Ukraine for three airfields of the Russian Federation - "Buturlinovka", "Millervo", "Morozovsk". According to estimates, 35 to 75 missiles will be spent on this. It can also be found that the remaining 20 of the nearest airports will take from 700 to 1500 ATCMS with a DF 165 km or 300 km.

The Ukrainian command achieves several important goals due to the blows to the airfields of the Russian Federation, showing comments of military and aviation experts. The CEO of the Eelectronic Wrestling Company and Aviation Expert Anatoly Khrapchynsky revealed some details of massive attacks of Ukraine. According to him, the goal of mass shocks is the destroyed planes, damaged runway.

However, there are other objects that are useful to blow up - for example, strokes on the "technical part": on the equipment that provides aviation flights. In addition, a good goal is fuel and lubricants. According to the aviation expert, this can be achieved most effectively through ATACMS and Storm Shadow: then "we will see torn aircraft". Another option is the use of Neptune missile, which can work on land and make quite powerful strokes.

The MT Anderson OSINT analyst analyzed the attack at the Lipetsk-2 airfield, which is based on Su-34, Su-35 and MiG-31 aircraft. The purpose of the attack was the composition of ammunition that the Russians use to bombard the front. It was then that 700 cabes were able to undermine, and the footage from the scene.

The expirer of the head of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Igor Romanenko, explained in August what additional advantages had brought Ukraine a blow to the airfield "Savasleik". The officer recalled that this airport is training pilots to work on scarcity Su-57 aircraft. That is, the only attack can damage the fighter, worth about $ 25 million, and people who will fly on it.
