According to the principle of reciprocity: Moscow terminated the land lease with the Ukrainian Embassy - the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation

In 2023, the Kyiv City Council terminated a similar treaty with the Russian Federation. The Russian Foreign Ministry representative Maria Zakharova stated that hostile steps from Ukraine will not remain without an adequate response of Russia. The Department of City Property of Moscow, on the initiative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, terminated leases of a land plot, provided under the placement of the Embassy of Ukraine in the Russian capital.

On February 10, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation reported. The Capital Department has decided to terminate the lease, although the Embassy does not operate since the beginning of the full -scale invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine.

The comment said that the decision was made on the principle of reciprocity, since in April 2023 the Kyiv City Council took similar steps, when it terminated the lease on the land, where the complex of buildings of the Embassy of Russia in Ukraine was located. At the same time, the Russian Federation rented this land for 49 years for a symbolic fee - 49 UAH.

"The Department of City Property of Moscow also decided to terminate the lease agreements on land provided under the placement of the Embassy of Ukraine," said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Maria Zakharova. At the same time, she added that any such hostile steps of the Ukrainian authorities "will not be left without an adequate response of Russia.
