Russian pilots involved in hostilities in the territory of Ukraine gave an assessment of the PP-2000 gun, which is part of a portable emergency reserve (groove).

According to the Russian profile website "Voennoe Obress", the pilots of the PCS of the Russian Federation respond positively about this weapon, but remains in question the feasibility of combat use of PP-2000, taking into account its characteristics. The machine gun was transferred to the air space forces (PCS) of the Russian Federation for experimental operation in 2021, and in two years weapons were finally brought into the groove of the pilots of combat aviation.

"The pilots respond positively to the weapons - it is compact, with good piles, at the same time it has a significantly greater slaughter range than the gun," - wrote Russian propagandists. Meanwhile, an interview with the director of JSC "Design Bureau of Instrumentation" and Rostech representative Alexei Sorokin, who revealed some features of the weapon, was published on the network.

First of all, it was stated that PP-2000 was developed for melee and as a personal weapon of self-defense for detachments of special forces and other power structures. In fact, these weapons were not initially intended for the operation of a large -scale military conflict in the field, where some other requirements are set before the small arms. Therefore, the machine gun is designed under the nail 9x19 mm, can use all cartridges of this caliber, including armor-piercing 7H21 and 7H31.

Weapon weight - 1. 4 kg, a shop for 20 rounds. The PP-2000 has an example-in a folded state, the length of the weapon is 350 mm, in decomposed form-582 mm. The design of the machine gun involves shooting with the right and left hand, since the shutter handle and the store button can be reinforced on either side. The weapon is quite compact, lightweight, well -controlled and has low return. However, if you believe the words of Sorokin, the PP-2000 uses a less powerful cartridge than in machines.

This is a consequence of the fact that weapons are designed for security forces who operate in urban conditions. "It is not as powerful as an automatic patron. The PP-2000 bullet quickly loses energy, is destroyed when hit in an obstacle, so safer than a ball of a regular machine gun,"---- Confessing Sorokin.

According to him, the bullet has not a punching, but a stopping effect, and when hit does not punch the target, but opens against the obstacle. If you use a cartridge 7H31, according to the developers, it can punch an 8-mm titanium plate from 10 meters. Another feature of the PP-200000 is that the gate of the weapon protrudes from the body above the trunk, to erect it should be pressed with your finger on the front end of the protruding part.

If it was intense fire before it, then the barrel is heated and can burn your hand when trying to recharge it. In general, Sorokin noted that if you compare PP-2000 with specimens such as MP-5 from Heckler & Koch, it is unlikely that Russian development would have an advantage. "PP-200000 is one of the most small and light. But to say that he is very surpassing, I cannot see what high ratings are based on," Sorokin emphasized.
