"Benefits" for Pokrovskaya: What is the value of a collet and why the Armed Forces want to capture it

The Armed Forces on this area of the front is successfully used by the features of the landscape, which help to stop the promotion of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. In the city of coal, the forces of defense hammer a significant grouping of enemy troops and do not allow them to promote in Kurakhiv and Pokrovsky directions. Oleksandr Musienko, the head of the Center for Military Legal Research, said this in a comment to RBC-Ukraine.

According to a military expert, the coal carries a tremendous task in a defensive operation in the East, since here the forces of defense are hampering a huge hostile grouping of the enemy, causing him maximum losses. Also here the Armed Forces use the features of landscape - mine, rivers, to prevent the movement of Russian units in Kurakhivsky and Pokrovsky directions.

"It was because of this that the Ukrainian forces were able to regroup something, say, to strengthen the defense in the Pokrovsky direction and stop the enemy directly near Novogrodivka during the frontal attacks. Therefore, the group fulfills a very large mission to defense the entire front of Kurakhiv and Pokrovsky directions," Musienko says.

According to Oleksandr Musienko, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation will not be able to complete the task of full occupation of the Donetsk region without the capture of the coal, which is located at the dominant altitudes. "They want to use these heights for their further promotion and offensive. They want to take revenge on Ukrainian defenders, because they suffered tremendous losses during the presence of our forces in Village.

It is about very high losses in live power and technology," Musienko said. Also, according to a military expert, the purpose of the Russians to continue their offensive campaign is to equalize the front line. "The enemy was afraid that Ukraine can move a long -range artillery to a height in the area of carbon and from there to Volnovakha, and there is an important railway line and knot for the enemy. These are the reasons why they fought for so long," Musienko adds.

He stressed that the coal lasted a long period, which was why some of the Russians were torn, because during the offensive in May to Kharkiv region, the occupiers could also plan an offensive in the south. "They regarded it precisely from the coal and thus squeeze these flank attacks. The fact that Ukrainian troops did not allow it - this gave a lot to disrupt such plans of the enemy," - summed up Alexander Musienko.
