12 Caliber against drones: In the Russian Federation created a shotgun for UAV type Mavic (video)

To spread: Russian servicemen have developed a makeshift weapons system for drones of Mavic type, which allows to use 12-clibbic fractional cartridges to destroy enemy drones. Analysis of video materials from different Russian groups was conducted by the OSINT researcher @Grandparoy2 on the platform X. For the preparation of ammunition in a standard cartridge 12 caliber manually remove part of the gunpowder, in its place install a electric gray, which serves as a lighter.

The cartridge is then sealed in a reinforced fiberglass polypropylene pipe, forming a disposable cartridge. Such cartridges are fixed under the drone body with the help of clamps. The shot is carried out remotely, by activating the built -in LED, which triggers the ignition of the electric hammer. During the shot, the cartridge is ejected, thus preventing its effect on the aircraft and maintaining its stability.

Military observers note that this decision has its disadvantages - each cartridge disposable, which increases labor costs for the preparation of a combat drone. The Ukrainian military also use drones with shotguns to counteract hostile drones. For example, the fighters of the 30th mechanized and presidential crews use specially adapted FPV-drones, such as Lucky Strike, which are equipped with multiple rifles designed for a specific task.

The design of Ukrainian systems involves effective compensation for the return, which allows you to conduct multiple fire without loss of control over the apparatus. The fighters emphasize that the management of such UAVs requires a quick reaction and the exact choice of the moment for the shot, but in the rest of their use does not cause difficulties.
