A weapon permission without a visit to the National Police: In Ministerfra told about the new functionality of "Action"
The Minister told about the new "Action" services during a briefing "Digital Opportunities for Veterans: Availability and Respect", Ukrinform information agency wrote. Fedorov stated that the developers are at the stage of beta testing of the new action "Action" on the design of weapons, which is in the hands of citizens. The service will be available for both the veterans of the defense forces and for civilians, the official noted.
According to him, people will be able to take advantage of the following functionality: the head of the Ministry of Defense stressed that the electronic document formed through "action" will completely replace the paper. All you need to show when checking is a QR code that is scanned if necessary. "You will not have to carry any other permits with you," Fedorov said. The new functionality for weapons permits will appear in the coming month, the head of the Ministry of Defense said.
On the Mindrifra portal, you can read about the existing procedure for obtaining a weapon permit. It is stated that you need to apply to the National Police. A set of documents is added to the application - different for different types of services. For example, in order to obtain a weapon permit, it is necessary, among other things, to provide a liability insurance contract. And for the registration of rifle weapons - a medical certificate (in addition to the other six documents).
The cost of providing the service is an administrative fee (from 9 UAH for cold weapons to 54 UAH - for a reward for urgent registration). Fedorov did not explain whether the new functionality of "action" would cover all types of weapons permits that are issued by the police today. Earlier, Focus wrote about a single register of weapons, which has been operated in Ukraine since June 2023.
The then Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Leonid Timchenko explained that citizens will be able to check independently whether there is information about their weapons in the register and to clarify the validity of the permit. Meanwhile, in September 2024, the Verkhovna Rada considered the draft law on the declaration of weapons, which a person was found through fighting in the territory of Ukraine.
The document states that the citizens have 24 hours to transfer the find to the police. The weapons are then returned, and then the person registers it or confiscate it, is in law. The regulatory act No. 3899-IX began operating on November 24, 2024, told on the Ministry of Internal Affairs portal. We remind that in the summer of 2024 the National Police reported how many unregistered weapons are in the hands of citizens.
