Russia plans to recruit half a million more servicemen in the army - the General Staff of the Armed Forces

The Kremlin plans to additionally replenish the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation by setting contractors for the acquisition of units that have suffered losses in the war zone. Russia plans to replenish its army for half a million military because of losses in the war against Ukraine. On July 5, the Deputy Chief of the Main Operational Administration of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Brigadna General Alexei Gromov announced this in an interview with Ukrinform.

Gromov said that there is no official mobilization in Russia, but the recruitment of servicemen under contract continues. "Officially mobilization in the Russian Federation is suspended. However, measures are being taken to recruit servicemen under the contract and replenish the losses of units in the war zone. According to the Kremlin's plans, up to 500,000 people are planned to be attracted to the Armed Forces.

According to him, since the beginning of spring conscription, the invaders were able to attract only 6 to 15 thousand people in contract service. However, the Russian leadership plans to improve the situation in a short time. The Russians plan to do this by formally "infusion" into the armed forces of militants of private military companies. Alexei Gromov also informed that nowadays in the training centers in the territory of Belarus are trained from 3 to 5 thousand mobilized Russian servicemen.

In his opinion, given the considerable mobilization resource, the Russian Federation is able to fully provide its own armed forces with personnel for a long war for exhaustion. It is also known that from April 1 to July 15, 2023 in Russia, a conscription for military service of citizens from 18 to 27, who are not in stock and are subject to conscription. During this period, 147 thousand people are planned to be recruited.
