"Answer to the Aggression of the West": in ISW told what Shoga strengthens the western borders of the Russian Federation
According to analysts, the head of the Russian defense department tried to justify the fact that the Moscow and Leningrad military districts were restored. The reason for this was the counteraction of the so -called aggression of the West. According to him, the support of NATO countries of Ukraine is an existential threat to the Russian Federation and its population. At least that's what the people should think. It also takes a lot of resources and time to restore districts.
It is worth noting that a day earlier Sergei Shoigu held a meeting of the Ministry of Defense Board, where it was decided to return the districts that existed in the Russian Federation by 2010. At the same time, instead of what is happening inside the Russian Federation, during the meeting he constantly commented on how the event supports Ukraine and for what allegedly the Alliance is expanding.
All this, according to the head of the Russian department, is a risk for further escalation and destabilizes the situation. In this regard, the Kremlin decided to strengthen the group of forces on their western borders to give the "neighbors" the answer to the likely threats.
"Shogu considers the restoration of these military districts as a necessary response to the alleged aggression of the West against Russia, only to justify the costs of the necessary resources, time and institutional opportunities for this," - summed up analysts with ISW. We will remind, on July 31 it was reported that according to Financial Times, Putin is preparing for an even greater and longer war in Ukraine. It can temporarily retreat, but only to prepare for a larger and longer war.
