Ukraine is just a step: the Russian Federation wants to send "green men" to NATO country - German intelligence

To spread: German intelligence found that the war in Ukraine for the Russian Federation is only a step towards expanding confrontation with the West. The Kremlin can send "green men" to Estonia to test the determination of the Member States of the North Atlantic Alliance (NATO). This was stated by the head of the Federal Intelligence Service of Germany Bruno Kalun in an interview with Table Media, Reuters reports on June 10.

According to Kaly, his department has clear information that according to Russian officials, the obligations of the Member States for collective defense have lost their practical force in Article 5 of the NATO Agreement. "We are quite confident, and we have intelligence that confirm that Ukraine is only a step in the way to the West," said German intelligence chairman, without specifying the sources of this information.

He added that this will not mean an attack to the west of Russian tanks, but Moscow plans to test the promises of the Alliance for collective defense. According to him, the Kremlin intends to start small confrontations that will not turn into a large military clash. To do this, Russians can use "green men" in shape without distinctive signs or in civilian clothing, as they did in 2014 during the occupation of Crimea. "They do not need to send the army of tanks.

It is enough to send small" green men "to Estonia to protect the allegedly oppressed Russian minorities," Kal explained. At the same time, the German intelligence chair did not specify what Russian officials have such views. In addition, Kal reported that US intelligence perceives the Russian threat as seriously as NATO European Member States.
