In order to implement his strategy, according to analysts, Vladimir Putin increases the power of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, intensifies propaganda in society and tries not to send mobilized immediately to the front, as it was in September 2022. For the next 6 months, Russia plans to take the initiative on the battlefield and deprive Ukraine of the opportunity to carry out counter -offensive operations. This is stated in the report of the ISW War Study of January 15.

According to analysts, Russian President Vladimir Putin dramatically changes the approaches to the full -scale war against Ukraine. In the next six months, as said in the ISW report, the Kremlin plans to seize the initiative on the battlefield to deprive Ukraine of the opportunity to carry out a counter -offensive.

Despite the fact that Vladimir Putin has not changed his goals in the war, there are evidence that he changes the fundamental aspects of Russia's approach to conflict, making additional efforts.

In particular, the Institute for the Study of the War recorded the development of such directions in the War of Moscow: a few days earlier, the former adviser to the President of the Russian Federation Andriy Ilarionov argued that Vladimir Putin was making a plan from the environment of Ukraine from Lviv to Odessa, which the Kremlin can start after January 15.
