The Russian Federation received rockets from the DPRK and new "Shahda": the expert explained what they are dangerous for the Armed Forces
KN-23 ballistic missiles, transferred to Russia by North Korea, as well as shock drones of Shahd with a jet engine, pose a serious threat to the defense of the Ukrainian airspace. Former Deputy Chief of Staff of the Navy of the Armed Forces, the 1st rank captain Andriy Ryzhenko on the air of the TV channel "Kyiv 24" reported about it. He explained that these missiles have a solid fuel engine and have a range of up to 450 km.
KN-23 can rise to a height of 50 km and go vertically to the target, reaching speeds up to 6 mach. According to Ryzhenko, such goals are difficult for Ukrainian air defense. Although Patriot SACs can be used to counteract North Korean missiles, there is a risk of overloading rocket channels that can give KN-23 the ability to achieve goals.
In addition, he noted that the transmitted Russian modified "rod" with a jet engine are a serious test for interception systems due to high speed and maneuverability. According to Ryzhenko, potential opponents can use these missiles to attack military equipment. "They may be used on Western production systems, air defense systems, that is, our most capable weapons," he said.
