Patriot ZRK is increasingly difficult to knock down Iskander missiles: US Intelligence and Analysts explained the reason

To spread: the US Agency for Military Intelligence (DIA) has confirmed that the Ukrainian air defense forces became more and more difficult to intercept Russian ballistic missiles. The reason is the improvement of systems such as Iskander, which allow rockets to change the trajectory in flight and avoid the interceptors of Patriot complexes.

Against the background of more large -scale air attacks of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation using ballistic missiles, the effectiveness of Ukrainian anti -rocket defense has decreased. The War Zone analysts write about it. The material emphasizes that today Ukraine has five Patriot batteries: three put the United States, one - Romania, another - Germany and the Netherlands. These systems remain the only reliable shield against Russian ballistic missiles, but even they are difficult.

Experts record specific cases where efficiency was noticeably lower than expected. For example, in the attack on June 28, Russia used seven ballistic missiles - only one managed. In the greatest air attack during the war, on July 9, 13 missiles were launched, of which the Ukrainian forces intercepted or suppressed only seven. According to Yuriy Ignatus Air Force representative, Russia is actively using Iskander-M and the North Korean KN-23.

These rockets fly on a quasi -plate trajectory, changing the direction and height in flight. This tactic "knocks the Patriot software from the panthele, complicating the calculation of the interception point. In addition, some rockets are equipped with radar erroneous targets that distract rockets. Similar technology was noticed on Iskanders-M back in 2022, but now there are signs that Russia is expanding its use.

"Modified rockets are now equipped with systems of radar targets and use quasi -plasical trajectories of flight, which complicates their tracking and intercepting with Patriot systems," analysts say, citing Ignata's comments. In conclusion, analysts emphasize that the problems of Patriot complexes in Ukraine are a alarm not only for Kiev, but also for all countries-operators entrusted to these SCRs, in particular for the USA.

The prolonged use of Patriot systems in war gives the enemy the opportunity to study them and develop new methods of bypassing protection. In addition, the situation is complicated by the fact that the supply of new Patriot batteries is limited, and demand for them is increasing because of war in Ukraine. Even with the support of the US and European allies, Ukrainian anti -missile defense remains vulnerable, especially before modernized ballistic missiles.
