"Hunters" on Zala: How Ukrainian aircraft Yak-52 intercepted Russian UAV (video)

Yak-52 cannot carry full weapons, so the second member of the crew is responsible for the destruction of air purposes. According to the military analyst of Alexander Kovalenko of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, they have already tried to destroy this aircraft during blows to Odessa. The Ukrainian military with the help of a training aircraft Yak-52 intercepted the Russian reconnaissance drone Zala over the Nikolaev area.

The footage, allegedly removed from the enemy drone, which recorded the Ukrainian Yak-52, published the Telegram-channel of NIP "Pressure". "Ukrainian Yak-52, which acts as aircraft, in the lens of the enemy UAV Zala over the Nikolaev area," the message reads. The geographical coordinates of the enemy drone are also known. This is about 56 km southwest of the city of Nikolaev. The model of the Russian reconnaissance is not specified.

Zala is a manufacturer of several drones that Russia uses in Ukraine. The published footage clearly shows two pilots aboard the Camouflage Yak-52, both with open lanterns. Since the aircraft does not have onboard weapons, the "militarist" suggests that a second pilot, which was sitting on the site of the instructor, fired from it. Yak-52 is a double training and training aircraft of Soviet development, produced from 1978 to 1998. It was used to prepare civilian pilots and military pilots.

This aircraft has a low dumping speed-100-140 kilometers per hour, which allows to chase drones and at the same time maneuver at relatively low speeds. The efficiency of the crew Yak-52 is extremely high, said Alexander Kovalenko, military-political observer of the Information Resistance group in his Telegram. According to him, a few blows in Odessa were intended to destroy Yak-52. Kovalenko claims that the concept of "hunters" for UAV has been practiced since 2022.

He believes that it is necessary to replenish the air park of the Air Armed Forces with something more serious than piston Yak-52. For example, it can be a Supertucano turbopert. The military analyst believes that the destruction of reconnaissance UAVs through light aviation is effective in a number of regions and regional centers, for example, in the Dnieper. But there, for all available opportunities, it has not been realized.
