DeepState analysts reported on October 20 about the offensive of the Russian Federation on several front lines. In addition to Kupyansk and Vovchansk, the Russians advanced in the village of Plavni in Zaporozhye and near Toretsk and Bila Hora in Donetsk region.

In Kupyansk, analysts noted the enemy's advance in the southwest direction. In Vovchansk, according to DeepState, the occupiers also entered the territory to the southwest. In the Plavny area of ​​the Zaporizhzhia region, the Russians advanced to the north. In Donetsk region, the Russian Armed Forces were advancing to the north in the Bila Hora area and to the northwest near Toretsk.

DeepState also clarified the front line in the area of ​​the village of Dachnoi in the Dnipropetrovsk region. As of 8 a. m. on October 20, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that the enemy was storming the positions of Ukrainian units near Vovchansk, and four Russian attacks took place in a day in the Kupyansk direction. Regarding the Orihiv region, the General Staff reported one attack on the positions of Ukrainian defenders in the area of ​​Plavni settlement.

The Russians attacked 24 times in the Kostyantynivsk direction, in particular in the Toretsk area. On September 28, civilians were banned from entering Kupyansk. The General Staff explained that this decision was necessary for the implementation of countersabotage measures. On October 16, a serviceman of the Ukrainian Armed Forces with the call sign "Alex" spoke about the "chaos in the defense" and the risks of the occupation of Kupiansk.
