In Ukraine, basic military service and basic military training are introduced. Men must go through either one or the other, depending on whether they study at the university. The People's Deputies finalized the bill on strengthening of mobilization and military service, which was submitted to the Verkhovna Rada in January 2024. They have agreed on the lower age of mobilization, which is 25 years. 18-year-old Ukrainians will not be mobilized, but they must undergo basic military training or service.

People's Deputy Igor Kopitin explained whether the parliamentarians supported the proposal for booking from mobilization for money. According to him, so far such edits have been rejected. However, they can appear again when discussed in the session hall. At the same time, another law was adopted in the Verkhovna Rada concerning social protection of servicemen. Among other things, they made changes to a number of other documents, deleting the concept of "limited".
