The EU has extended for half a year the action of personal sanctions that were imposed in connection with the full -scale invasion of Russia into the territory of Ukraine.

The EU Council's decision states that the sanctions will continue to apply to almost 1,800 people who are considered responsible for the undermining or threat of territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine. However, when looking at the decision, the EU Council has crossed out the black lists of four people.

It is about Grigory Berezkin (Russian businessman, whose assets belongs to the Media Holding "RBC"), Farhad Akhmedov (former president and co-owner of "Nortgas"), Alexander Shulgin (exquisite Russian online store Ozon) and Georgy Shvaev ).

It is known that after February 24, 2022, in response to Russia's military aggression against Ukraine, the European Union extended sanctions against Russia in order to significantly limit its ability to wage war, depriving its critical technologies and markets and weakening Russia's economic base. About 1,800 legal entities and individuals have entered the black lists. The latter is prohibited from entry into the EU, their assets are subject to freezing.
