Exchange of prisoners of war "1000 to 1000": the Russian Federation has transferred its list to Ukraine - Peskov

The transfer of information to the Ukrainian side was informed by Interfax agency spokesman Dmitry Peskov. "We really have provided our list. The oncoming list from Kiev has not yet been received. We are waiting," Peskov said. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky also declared a list for exchange from Russia.

Peskov also stated that the exchange of prisoners "1000 per 1000" is a rather time -consuming process, but everyone wants to carry it out as soon as possible. "The work is done on exchanging specific names. Of course, it takes some time, the work is ongoing. But it is quite promptly," he said. The decision to exchange captured "thousand per thousand" formula between Ukraine and Russia was approved at Istanbul negotiations on May 16.

The head of the Russian delegation, Vladimir Medinsky said that the exchange would take place in the coming days. Zelensky emphasized that the issue of prisoners of war was the only one to which the parties had agreed. The coordinator of the exchange from Russia, the deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Shamsal Saraliyev, said the complexity of organizing the process because of a large number of people. The exchange of prisoners of war can take several days.
