Almost half a thousand believers have already arrived in Uman as of August 5. The mayor Irina Pletnyova reported about it, reports. “At the state level, they have not yet made a final decision on whether Ukraine will make pilgrims or not. Of course, we went out, looked at the possibility of shelters, ways of anxiety, where you can hide. So, frankly, the city cannot protect the number of pilgrims who plan to come because we are talking not only about 10,000 pilgrims, but also about the number of people living in these territories, ”she said. In 2022, Rosh Ha-Shan will last from September 25 to September 27.

Last year, 30,000 pilgrims arrived for the celebration, two and a half thousand last year. Rosh Ha-Shan is a Jewish New Year that fell on September 25-27 this year. According to Jewish calculus, the holiday marks the onset of 5782 since the creation of the world. Last year, more than 29,000 pilgrims arrived in Uman. In early July, the Israel Embassy reported that Ukraine will not accept pilgrims on Rosh Ha-Shan this year because of a full-scale invasion of Russia.
