Russia is ready for negotiations: Turkey supported the "peace" formula "Zelensky
The Turkish Foreign Minister held a joint press conference with the Minister of International Relations and Cooperation of the South African Republic, Naddy Pandor, within which they answered several questions about Ukraine. Mevlut Chavushoglu noted that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has made a lot of efforts to resolve the situation in Ukraine, in particular to end the fighting. According to the minister, the Russian-Ukrainian war should end with a diplomatic way.
"Of course, our goal is a strong peace and a mutually acceptable solution. We believe that this war will end at the negotiation table. That is better, better," the Turkish Foreign Minister said. Chavushoglu also noted that the Russian Federation is allegedly demonstrating a readiness for dialogue with Ukraine. In addition, the politician mentioned the "formula of peace" proposed by Vladimir Zelensky at the Grand Twenty summit in Indonesia on November 15, 2022.
"There are new parameters and realities. Russia states that it is ready for negotiations now. Zelensky has proposed a peace plan of 10 points. We, as Turkey, support this plan and continue our work," Chavushoglu said. We will remind that the "formula of peace" of Ukraine takes into account 10 steps.
Among the requirements of the Ukrainian side are nuclear, energy and food safety, the release of prisoners and forcibly displaced Ukrainians, the restoration of the territorial integrity of Ukraine, the withdrawal of Russian troops and the termination of hostilities.
