The Russian Federation has restored mass production of engines for T-80BM tanks (photo)

The occupiers from September 2023 carry out work on the restoration of production of engines of GTD-1250 by 1250 horsepower. During the visit of Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu to the Omsky Pank Plant it became known that the Russians restored the production of GTD-1250 gas turbine engines. About it reports Defense Blog. Kaluga engine machine-building plant has restored the production of engines for the T-80BVM tank-this is the most modern modernization of the machine in the Russian army.

This version was adopted by the Russian army in 2017 and continued to be finalized on the basis of fighting against Ukraine. GTD-1250 is a gas turbine engine with a capacity of 1250 horsepower. It can work on diesel, gas, gasoline and their mixtures. The engine consumes 225 liters of fuel per hour. It is worth noting that the Russian Federation wants to restore the full cycle of production of T-80 tanks. This was stated in September 2023.

The manufacturer should be Omsktransmash, which produced machines during the Soviet Union. Currently, the Russian Federation is producing part of the T-80 units: as noted on the "militaristic", "Omsktransmash" has been degraded after the collapse of the USSR, so since 2017 it has only restored and modernized the T-80 to the level of T-80BM. Some technical solutions as casting a tank tower in the form in the Russian Federation cannot do.
