According to the investigation, the suspect was a 45-year-old native of Lugansk, who in the spring of 2022 moved to Cherkasy region as a migrant. The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) detained the agent of Russian military intelligence, who prepared a rocket strike on the railway and military hospitals in Cherkasy region. On February 19, the SBU reports on the official site.

As noted in the release, the main task of the corrector was to identify nodal railway stations through which military equipment for the Armed Forces went to the front. In addition, the agent had to identify the exact coordinates of ammunition and other weapons of Ukrainian troops, as well as the locations of hospitals where the Ukrainian military was treated. "The invaders were going to use this information to plan rocket and kidney blows on Ukrainian facilities.

Thus they hoped to" cut "ways of supplying weapons and ammunition for the Armed Forces to the forefront, as well as to cause fire damage to the places of the greatest concentration of Ukrainian troops", - Ukrainian law enforcement officers said. As the investigation was established, the investigation was a 45-year-old Lugansk, who in April 2022 moved to Cherkasy region as a displaced person from the east of Ukraine.

At the beginning of 2024, he was remotely recruited by a representative of the GRU of the Armed Forces of Russia because of his acquaintance - a fighter of the occupying group of the Russian Federation, which is stationed in the temporarily occupied part of the territory of Luhansk region.

For communication, the agent and his associate used anonymous chats in the messenger, and the transmission of the intelligence agent was made in the form of photos of Ukrainian objects with description, geolocation and attachment to the area. For each task, the person involved received from the Russian game "salary". During the searches, a mobile phone was removed with evidence of his correspondence with Russian intelligence and a bank card to which hostile money was listed.

The SBU staff carried out an ahead of the SBU - exposed the Russian agent before the data was transferred, documented his criminal acts and detained in his own premises. Thanks to the rapid response of the Ukrainian intelligence service, it was possible to inform the command of defense forces in a timely manner to protect the Ukrainian troops.

"Currently, investigators of the Security Services have informed the person being suspected under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (a state betrayal committed in martial law). He is now in custody. He is threatened with life imprisonment," investigators stated.

We will remind, on February 15, the SBU in absentia reported suspicion to the singer and People's Deputy of the 8th convocation of Taisiya Povaliy, who justifies the aggressive war of the Russian Federation against Ukraine and publicly supports the Kremlin. On February 9, the suspicion was received by the UOC (MP) clergyman, who filmed a video with provocations near the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra. According to the SBU investigation, the priest received instructions from blogger Anatoly Sharia.
