In November 2024, it was confirmed that the M-1989 Coxan version was in Russia. The first confirmation that the Coxans from the DPRK was transferred to the Russian territory a month ago. So far, the participation of these SAUs has not been recorded in hostilities. M1978 Koksan, known as the "Chuchhe gun,"-North Korean SAU 170 mm on the Type 59 tank chassis. This system has been in service since 1978 and has been used in the Iran-Iraq War, as well as during the full-scale invasion of Russian troops.
Coxan SAU are in service: Iran, North Korea and Russia (62 pieces). In November 2024, it was confirmed that the M-1989 Coxan version was in Russia, at least three of these SAUs were noticed during the Railway Movement through Krasnoyarsk). Coxan SAU in the past were armed with Iraq's army after seizure in Iranian troops. We will remind that Kyiv has invited a license to Washington for the production of Patriot systems in Ukraine.
