The monument was located on the Brest Avenue in the capital. He was repeatedly covered with paint and painted with inscriptions with a call to demolish the sculpture. A monument was dismantled in Kiev, which was erected in honor of the Russian poet Alexander Pushkin. This was reported by the mayor of the capital Dmitry Belotserkovets on his page on the social network Facebook on November 15.

It is noted that the established monument was in the square on the Brest Prospect, opposite the Park of the Kiev Polytechnic Institute. Ukrainians have repeatedly urged to remove it from the capital, but only now the final decision was made.

"Pushkin - everything! At the end of the second year of the war, it was not part of the Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers that it is not part of Ukrainian culture, and government officials agreed to the initiative of Kiev to demolish this monument," Dmitry Bilotserkovets said. The monument to Alexander Pushkin was repeatedly poured with paint and painted with various inscriptions with calls to demolish the sculpture.

On September 21 this year, the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy stated that they initiated the removal of Pushkin monuments and other Russian figures. This will accelerate the purification of public space from Russian imperial policy. "The next step is by local self -government bodies. They have to make the final decision to dismantle and move objects," - said. Minister of Culture and Information Policy Rostislav Karandeyev.
