The Ukrainian military used a 9m79 rare missile for the "Point" Otrt, Defense Express

The "point" complexes have been in service with the Soviet Army since the 1970s. Their shooting range was up to 70 kilometers. On social networks, they posted a video of one of the episodes, how Ukrainian defenders struck Russian military with the use of OTRC "Point-U". About it writes Defense Express. At the same time, there is no information about time and scene.

However, if you take into account that such videos are usually published with a significant delay, it should not be ruled out that this start could take place a few months ago. However, these frames are important, taking into account the type of rocket used in this episode. It is known that the 9M79F rocket was used here to the point "Point" with a firing range of only 70 kilometers.

The authors of the material point out that the 9K79 Tactical Tactical Tactical Rocket Complex under the ballistic missile 9m79m with a range of firing up to 120 kilometers was adopted in 1989. Until then, since 1975, the Soviet Army has been in service with the point "Point" (for which the point "point-y" was developed). The "Point" complex had only 70 kilometers and a claimed deviation from a target at 250 meters.

There were two types of operative-tactical ballistic missiles under this missile complex-9m79B for nuclear ammunition and 9m79F under the conventional fugas ammunition. Separately, we will remind that for firing from the OTRC "point-y" are also assigned OTS type 9m79K with cassette fighting part and 9m79 FR with a fragile-fugural combat unit and a passive radar GSN. But at the moment, the question is at all open whether at least some stock of missiles remained in the Point-U Complex.
