Russia was thrown from the Council of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO)

Russia demanded re -vote, but called it "unprecedented" phenomenon and refused at the request. Russia was not re -elected to the Leadership Council of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). This was reported by Reuters. Russia has not gained 86 votes required to stay in the October 36 Council of the International Civil Aviation Organization during the meeting of the agency, which will last until October 7 in the Montreal.

Earlier, Canadian Minister Omar Algabra said Canada would vote against the election of Russia during the elections to the ICAO Council. It is known that, not receiving the seat in the Council, Russia demanded a re -vote, but Poppy Khoz, President of the Assembly and CEO of Civil Aviation South Africa, called the circumstances "unprecedented". And a representative of France stated that when the vote has taken place and the results are not liked, no one asks for re -vote.

ICAO on the Twitter page published a list of countries that were included in the Council as a result of the voting that took place on Saturday. Within the first stage of voting, Australia, Brazil, United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, Canada, China, USA, France and Japan were elected to the Council. Earlier, Russia, together with the Great Seven, China, Brazil and Australia, occupied the place as "the main states in the field of air transport" in the Council of Isao.

The organization put on Russia responsibility for violation of the sovereign airspace of Ukraine and bombing of airports, which is contrary to the key agreement of 1944, which outlines the basic principles of global aviation. The West also claims that Russia illegally provided hundreds of foreign aircraft, but the official Kremlin denies it. In March, in March, after the invasion of Ukraine, it allowed its airlines to be rented with foreign companies to the country of the country aircraft.

But any double registration of foreign aircraft leased by Russian carriers is contrary to the provisions of the Chicago Convention. In Moscow, it has already been stated that the non -rise of the Russian Federation to the ICAO Council is political. Russia still remains a member of ICAO and will continue to work within the organization, and this will not affect international flights with the Russian Federation.
