OCCUPATION: Ukraine is forced to burn additional coal volumes for the operation of the grid

Only in September, almost 300,000 tons of coal were additionally used to compensate for power compensation, which is lacking in the power system. Zaporizhzhya NPP remains under the occupation of Russia, so Ukraine is forced to burn additional coal. This is stated in the message of the All -Ukrainian Energy Assembly (VAA). It is reported that Ukraine cannot use 1/5 of the pre -war balance right now, and soon we will have to limit electricity exports to the EU countries.

"And to burn much more coal for thermal generation, which has been compensating for in the power system for several weeks in a row," the message reads. As noted in the WEA, so in September only about 300 thousand tons of coal was used for this purpose. Currently, the main load due to the non -working Zaporizhzhya NPP has taken over thermal generation. Of the 24 power units operating in the power system, 21 are blocks of private TPPs and only 3 are state.

According to experts, energy will continue to work in the Non-STOP mode, and through the war it is unlikely to avoid emergencies. And you need to prepare for this. We will remind, in recent weeks in Ukraine more and more emergency repairs on the power units of thermal power plants (TPP). According to Ukrenergo, the total daily capacity of the TPP units that are under emergency repair is now twice as much as in 2021. Meanwhile, the electricity tariff for Ukrainians remains unchanged: UAH 1. 44.

for kWh for consumption for a month up to 250 kWh and UAH 1. 68-for consumption of more than 250 kWh. The current tariff was extended through the war with Russia by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 453, where the tariffs for household consumers were extended by the end of October 2022. Most likely, in November, the government will also continue the current electricity tariffs.
