The EU approved 15 Package Against Russian Federation: Chinese companies were first on the list
New restrictions should overcome Russia's ability to finance war, weaken its military-industrial complex, and fight bypassing sanctions. This is stated in a message on the EU Council website. This EU package has introduced restrictions for 84 entities, including 54 individuals and 30 companies. The sanction list includes: for the first time sanctions have spread to Chinese companies that supply Russia components for drones and microelectronics.
"This package of sanctions is part of our response to the weakening of the military machine of Russia and those who contribute to this war, including Chinese companies. This testifies to the unity of EU Member States in our constant support of Ukraine. Businesses from other third countries, including India, Iran, Serbia and UAE, which helped to bypass trade restrictions, were also included in the list. The sanctions were affected by the vessels of the so -called "shadow fleet" of Putin, which are used to bypass price restrictions on oil or transportation of military equipment and stolen grain. 52 new vessels were included in the list, which increased the total number of sub -vessels to 79.
Also, the EU added 32 new companies to the list of those who support the Russian military sphere. These are enterprises that are involved in the production of drones and missiles or provide double -purpose technologies.
