Serbia will not impose sanctions against the Russian Federation: the conversation with Zelensky has not changed anything - Vuchich

According to the Serbian President, Belgrade has decided on the position in March 2022 and holds his own interests in the issue of sanctions. Serbia's position on anti -Russian sanctions has not changed even after President Alexandar Vuchich's meeting with Ukrainian colleague Vladimir Zelensky. He stated this during a summit of the European political community in Moldova, RTS reports on June 1.

According to him, the conversation between the presidents was short and good, but the country remains in its position when it comes to introducing international sanctions against the Russian Federation. "We had a brief conversation, but the decisions on sanctions against Russia are made by Serbia citizens through our leadership, and when we talk about sanctions, we made our decision in March 2022 and expressed our position. You can never change someone's conversation.

Serbia is our policy, Serbia is an independent and independent country, we respect Ukraine, well that we have talked, but Serbia holds our interests, " - the message reads. Alexander Vuchich separately stressed that Ukraine respects Serbia's territorial integrity and does not recognize Kosovo's independence. Belgrade is solidarity with Kiev, so according to the UN Charter respects Ukraine's integrity.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky did not comment on the conversation with a Serbian colleague at the time of material publication. We will remind, on April 12 it was reported that Serbia agreed to secretly supply lethal weapons to Ukraine. The secretary documents of the Pentagon, which were analyzed by journalists, contains information that Belgrade has military opportunity and political will for further supply of weapons for the needs of the Armed Forces.
