Pentagon has inflated the cost of Ukraine's defense weapons by almost $ 2 billion

The audit of the presidential defense program has established significant financial violations. During the year of the US Defense Ministry, Ukraine provided goods at an inflated price of $ 8. 1 billion. The United States Ministry of Defense has increased the cost of defense goods provided to Ukraine by $ 1. 9 billion.

The audit revealed that the efforts of the Ministry of Defense to revalify defense items provided under the program "Reduction of Presidential Reserves" (Presidential DrawDown - PDA), did not lead to accurate assessment and did not meet the federal or guidance principles of defense. On the basis of a non -stationary sample, it was determined that the Ministry of Defense has inflated the cost of the equipment provided by $ 1. 9 billion.

As it is noted, the audit group reviewed the revaluation data of approximately 2300 units of defense equipment. In particular, the military departments were overestimated with general equipment, including vehicles, aircraft and other depreciation items at $ 653 million. The cost of materials and stocks, including missiles, ammunition and other non -depreciation, was also inflated. $ 1. 25 billion emphasizes that in June 2023, the Ministry of Defense has already declared an error of $ 6.
