About a thousand only at airfields: how many UAVs need Ukraine for attacks on the Russian Federation
This opinion was expressed by a serviceman and airborne specialist Yuri Kasyanov in an interview with the news factory, which was published on Monday, January 22. In a conversation with the journalist, the expert initially touched the topic of how many UAVs needed to strike the main nodes of the enemy MIC. According to Yuri Kasyanov, there are about 30 enemy airfields near our borders with Russia.
Accordingly, if we want the enemy aviation at these airfields is paralyzed, then we need to send 30 UAVs a month. "It is about a thousand UAVs only at aerodromes, and there are still warehouses, there are stationary air defense systems and EWS, there are logistical centers. Accordingly, I think that about two thousand drones with a radius of up to a thousand kilometers we need only for it," he said .
Air Intelligence Specialist also noted that the Russian Federation for Ukrainian drones has other goals. It is primarily factories in Tatarstan for the production of rockets, aircraft and drones. In order to attack them, you already need a little other UAV with a distance from thousands of kilometers. They are more expensive, they have other motors and other configurations. A minimum of 200-300 drones for a long range will be required per month, which could paralyze the work of the Russian MIC.
"And this is a very important task because now on the front is actively managed by Russian UAVs of the Lancet type. And in order to fight them, we need not only good air defense. We need to destroy those factories where drones are produced," he said Kasyanov. He also calculated and explained how many long -range drones needed to protect the Ukrainian territory.
Assuming that every night the fighters start 10 UAVs of the far radius, then only 300 drones are released a month, provided that the country needs five times more. "Why do we have such UAVs in such quantity? The answer is very simple: we do not have a centralized management of the industry that produces drones. When GUR reports to us that bombard S. St. Petersburg or Moscow, we need to understand that the Budanov Office directly orders himself drones, as well as the Ministry of Defense.
There is no central body that would calculate how many such drones we need and distribute the order competently, "Yuri Kasyanov explained. In addition, according to the expert, all the drones produced in Ukraine should be unified. After all, those drones ordered by GUR or SBU, they are largely similar, but are produced by different manufacturers from different components.
And, when the manufacturer for a month is ordered a hundred drones of a large radius of action per month, then the profitability from this order is small and to buy, for example, it is impossible for it for expansion of production. "Accordingly, when there are no centralized orders for half a year, a year ahead, the manufacturer simply has no money," - summed up Yuri Kasyanov.
