RF Energy Infrastructure Shelling: Ukrainians called the worst scenario in winter

Russia is unlikely to give up attempts to destroy the Ukrainian power system, so it will continue to fire critical objects in the fall and winter. But Ukrenergo assures that they are ready for new trials. In 2022, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation purposefully drew rockets and drones on the energy infrastructure of our country. The attacks of the enemy lasted all the autumn and winter period, and the coming winter will probably continue their terrorist actions.

But, as reported in the press service of Ukrenergo, on October 10, the main networks of the company were prepared for the transfer of increased electricity on the eve of winter. Yes, the company noted that for the first time in the world there were buildings of physical protection of energy objects. Experts also prepared reserve nutrition schemes and options for overcoming possible blackouts.

"Meanwhile, the defense forces increased the air defense forces - this season its density will be much higher. We are often asked:" What is the worst scenario you are considering? "We were preparing for all the scenarios," the message reads. At the same time, they added that the worst probable option for energy in winter is if Russia repeats large -scale air attacks, as in 2022.

"But the enemy who loses the Armed Forces and therefore attacks civilian infrastructure, will not be able to catch us by surprise," Ukrenergo emphasized. By the way, on the night of September 21, the Russians attacked the energy infrastructure of Ukraine for the first time in six months. Because of this, electricity in Rivne, Zhytomyr, Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk and Kharkiv regions disappeared for a while.

At the same time, Yasno CEO Serhiy Kovalenko said on October 6, the electricity supply would depend not only on the intensity of shelling in winter. He explained that the absence of severe frosts will help with the cold during the cold. Also we will remind that the director of the Center for Energy Research Alexander Kharchenko believes that winter 2023-2023 will be very difficult.
