The condolences in connection with the death of the marathon participant was expressed by the head of the administration of the city district of Zato Fokino, where the base of the Pacific Fleet is located, Alexander Baranov. He explained that he personally knew Eugene from childhood.

In his school years, Vitutnev lived in Fokinom and attended the Makarivts Military Patriotic Club. The Primorye Prosecutor's Office confirmed the death of a 41-year-old marathon participant in Vladivostok and announced a check.

"The supervisory department will evaluate the compliance with the requirements of the legislation during the organization of a sports event and the completeness of the measures taken to guarantee the safety of its participants, in particular the organization of medical support of the event," - reads in the report of the Regional Prosecutor's Office.
