It is difficult with employment: how many Ukrainians stay out of work because of war

In Ukraine, the number of people who do not have work continues to decline, and there are more and more displaced persons who find a new employer after a forced moving. The Ukrainian economy is gradually gaining momentum, getting rid of the war shock in 2022. The labor market also comes to life, the situation with unemployment improves.

For example, in September 2023, 44% of those who worked before the war remained in the former places, 14% work partially and remotely, and 15% - employed in a new place. At the same time, the number of people who have no work continues to decline (30% of people were working without work in June 2023).

Among the displaced persons is increasing the number of those who got a job and became entrenched in a new place and those who work in the usual mode. At the same time, the share of non -working among IDPs decreased from 50% to 40 percent compared to the beginning of 2023. Thus, the number of registered unemployed decreased to 108.

And during a full -scale war, the highest unemployment rate was recorded in June last year - 316. 4 thousand people. It should be noted that on September 18, the Commissioner for Human Rights Pavel Lubinets reported that in Ukraine there is still a gap in pay between men and women.
