British drone Banshee was found near the occupied Novoazovsk: what is known about him
According to reports from the Russian Federation, drone, very similar to Banshee Jet 80+, the invaders were found 90 km from the front line, in the occupied city of Novoazovsk, near the border with Russia. According to the Defense Express website, this corresponds to the possible range of a drone, whose operating range is set at a limits of more than 100 km, and according to statements, officials can be up to 200 km. Photos and videos indicate that UAVs received only minor damage during the fall.
Banshee Jet 80+ with a jet engine can be over 45 minutes at a speed range from 180 km/h to 720 km/h at a height of 9144 m. Simple calculation shows that 200 km for the drone is not boundary. The drone has a combined Qinetiq control system. Avionic system includes a tripod inertial system with satellite correction and digital autopilot. On board there are means of digital telemetry, available autonomous navigation of the route.
UAVs are capable of controlled flight in the sea at a minimum height of 5 m due to an integrated radio. Interestingly, the original Banshee Jet 80+ model is just a UAV-target for air defense and pilots. The drone probably undergo modifications in the form of adding the combat part, which is why some of its characteristics have also changed. According to the Russians, the modified drone has a fighting part weighing 7 kg.
The 35 number on the drone may indicate the first supply, as Britain has previously spoken of hundreds of drones. The intention of the United Kingdom was officially announced in May 2023, but some specific details were not discussed. It was known that the British chose the best long -range shock drone for Ukraine, taking into account real combat needs and the possibility of quantitative security.
