In the Russian Federation want to create a Tanko-Kamikadze based on T54/T55: One has already tried to use (video)

The idea of tanks on radio control is not new - it was tried to embody during the USSR. It is known that Russia has a large number of old Soviet tanks, which in modern conditions of wars are practically no benefit and even if modernized with modern radio, they can help little on the battlefield. However, according to Defense Express, the Russians plan to use them as Kamikadze tanks.

On the basis of the ancient "Khrushchev" T-54/T-55 they will create radio-controlled fighting machines, which will not be harmful to burn in Ukraine. I do not need any special modern technologies-the management of such machines is quite simple, almost like a tractor, so the occupiers intend to use the old system, which was developed in the 1980s. Moreover, this system is said to be quite versatile and with small modifications can be used on any Soviet tank.

Interestingly, the first experimental tank of the Russians have already tried to apply against the Armed Forces. They laid 6 tons of explosives in the T-54/T-55 tank, but our boys managed to destroy it just 100 meters from their positions. As for the Soviet radio control system tanks, it was actively tested in the 1980s, for example, on the basis of the T-54 machine.

It is even known about the experimental detachment of 120 self -propelled radio -controlled tanks, which, however, performed the function of moving targets for training of tankers and artillerymen.

And although technologies of that time were not able to create a quality functional radio-controlled tank that would be able to bring on the target and shoot, but further developments in this direction led to the fact that the versions of the T-72 tank were appeared, which could be controlled remotely on 1-2 km away.
