You can break everyone's smartphone but why not "Putin's" hunted: expert opinion

Cybersecurity expert Korsun Korsun, believes that the best protection against hackers is not to use gadgets at all. But in this case, the head of the Russian Federation is threatened, even if it is hidden in the hopper. Any user of a smartphone can become an object of tracking, even if he is a well-known politician, military, oligarch. There are a number of expensive hacker tools that allow you to control different devices. Konstantin Korsun told about how they work and for what purpose.

According to the expert, in 2016, the Israeli company NSO Group sold its product, PEGASUS software, for $ 500,000 (for installation), plus for every 10 "infections" the company paid another $ 650 thousand. "For several years, Mexico, for example, has spent about $ 15 million on such cooperation. This can be read on the blog of one of the most famous cyber-research companies Talos," Konstantin stressed.

In 2021, the Predator product (in English-"Predator") was offered by the Intellexa developer for 13. 6 million euros. This amount includes 20 simultaneous infections, one -click expression, ready -made contaminated devices infrastructure, project plans, documentation and even 12 months of warranty support. "That is, everything is like in large business corporations, only the product is not quite legal and sub-subank," the author said.

The Predator program is able to bypass and be implemented in Android and iOS. Some tools of this spyware have not yet been found antivirus and other cybersecurity solutions, the author says. From this he concludes that literally any smartphone is defenseless against the highest level cybercrimal. But can you not protect yourself from such programs? Konstantin assures that the way out is simple: not to use any electronic means. For example, this is done by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

However, there is a loophole here, because you can break the devices of people from its environment. "You can still not tell anyone your secret device. But it will not work for a long time, because others have their own environment, and sooner or later this room is also known, after which you need to change both the device and the number. And to do it as often as possible. Everything is difficult, in a word, " - stated Korsun.

Simple users are not afraid of hacker attacks, because, according to the expert, even the developers of the spyware do not know for sure in which cases their development will or will not be able to penetrate into the smartphone of the victim and do not have a universal solution to this "problem".

"And the states, special services will not be spent on all in a row of smartphones-it is unrealistic expensive, so they buy similar tools only for espionage under a very limited range of top collapses/terrorists, and at the same time-political opponents, human rights defenders, journalists, dissident It is literally 10-20 people, "-writes the author and recommends that you follow the following rules. Earlier, we reported that Russian hackers again attacked the mobile operator "Kyivstar".
