The SBU detained spies from China: father and son "hunted" for data on Neptune missiles (photo)

To spread: two China citizens wanted to take out the secret documentation of the Neptune missile complex and to pass it on to the special services in Beijing. Counterintelligence detained them in Kiev. Counterintelligence of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) detained Chinese spies, which collected data on secret technologies of production of Ukrainian anti -ship missiles "Neptune". This was reported by the SBU press service.

The SBU notes that the unique weapons of the Defense Forces of Ukraine is intended for fire damage to all kinds of battle and landing ships. It was Neptune who destroyed the Moscow rocket cruiser, the flagship of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation. One of the Chinese spies was the 24-year-old former student of the technical university of the capital. He was in Kyiv after he was deducted for academic failure in 2023.

Another figure was his father, who resided in the PRC, but periodically came to Ukraine to coordinate the agent work of his son. The former student tried to recruit a Ukrainian who was related to the development of the latest weapons of the defense forces. The SBU counterintelligences exposed the spy at the initial stage of its intelligence activity. The Chinese citizen was detained "on hot" during the transfer of secret documents.

He also managed to detain his father, who was supposed to pass secret data to the special services of the PRC. During the search, they seized phones with evidence of correspondence and coordination of espionage. Investigators of the SBU reported the detainees of suspicion under Part 1 of Art. 114 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (espionage), they are threatened with up to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property.
